Island hopping Malaysia

Jesselton Point in Sabah state on Borneo Island is a diving spot and port.

You can book a boat from there

to reach the islands.

The counters on the left are travel agents, and right sides are just for booking,

but the window on the right is less negotiable.

I recommend to spend around 2 hours on one island.
Prices are the same regardless of which counter you book.

Travel agencies push activities,

but don't hesitate to decline what you don't want.

"I don't want to do that" clearly for better understanding.

When booking through an agency,

they helped me get on the boat quickly.

However, when I booked at the window, there was confusion and delay.

They told me to sit in a chair straight ahead and wait because a staff member would come.

However, despite waiting and waiting,

nobody showed up.

Even the departure time written on the ticket was wrong

—although it's currently 10:00, it said 8:30.

After waiting for about 20 minutes,

I approached a nearby guy and he said,

"You just wait here."

Even after 40 minutes passed with no one coming,

I asked again.

The response was something like,

"Oh, it's your boat!"

It was a complete case of being forgotten.

I wasted time just sitting around in the scorching heat, and there was no apology.

"I'm not at fault! You wasn't sitting, right?"
"I was sitting, though?"
"You didn't hold the ticket in your hands!"
"Nobody told me that. Didn't you check the headcount?"
"It's your fault for not being there!"
"So, when does the boat depart?"
"10 minutes! 10 minutes!"

In the end, it departed 20 minutes later (。☉◇☉).

By and large, I shouldn't get angry about time in foreign countries,

but the lack of responsibility is truly frustrating.

Last time, the return boat was delayed by 30 minutes,

so I mentioned it before boarding.

Their response was,

"Which company was that? We're always on time, so don't worry."

But on the way back,

they didn't call me, and the boat left without me, resulting in another 30-minute delay.

Why would they let the boat depart knowing the passenger count was incomplete?

This time, I had the ticket in hand and was seated.

It's beyond a certain level of incompetence.

The island's scenery is beautiful,

but the lack of hospitalities from staff is frustrating.

Sea Walk activity had lower visibility than the movie they showed me.

I could only see within the range of my outstretched hands,

so if you're into diving, Okinawa in Japan would be a better choice 🌊✨

Much more beautiful and clear.

Pictures were promised to be send tomorrow but it came the day after tomorrow with no apologies.

It's pretty bad, right?
I can't really imagine it could be happened in Japan.

Even the diving instructions were also lacking.

I didn't know the tanks had an upper and lower part,

and I accidentally drank water a few times.

When I said,

"I keep drinking water every time!"

they finally told me about it.

It's too late !!! 💢

I managed to dive only once,

but I couldn't go down all the way due to running out of time.

I used to think Japan's explanations were too detailed,

but I realized they are necessary for safety and enjoyment 🙏

Despite frustrations,

the experience was calming sensation that eased it all away 🥰

People who might have been contemplating suicide might feel like those thoughts are lifted after coming here.

By the way,

you can purchase phone holders at the souvenir shop 🙆‍♀️

🌸 IPX8 standards for over 30m diving cost 25RM

🌸 10m diving for 18RM

🌸 limited diving for a few seconds for 8RM

Since the waters are shallow,

it's a good idea to put your cards and phone in a holder,

leaving only items you're fine with potentially getting stolen.

Enjoying the gentle waves is recommended ⭕️

Snorkeling and boat rides are enjoyable without deep diving.

You can take great underwater and low-angle photos with it.
